Meet Our Pastors
Bishop Richard Woodson, Jr.
Senior Pastor
Bishop Richard Woodson, Jr. claims Montgomery, Alabama as his home of record, although he was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and spent most of his early years in Tacoma, Washington. Bishop Woodson served 21 years in the United States Veterinary Command. Upon retiring from the United States Army, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Austin Peay State University.
Bishop Woodson is a compassionate leader and profound teacher of God’s word. God has called him to be a voice for the times we are living in to empower and strengthen the people of God while challenging and equipping them for spiritual battle in the realm of faith. He operates in power under the spirits of wisdom and revelation in accordance to the written word. Bishop teaches us to do self-examination over our spoken words.
God has blessed our Bishop with a wonderful, powerful and anointed wife of 30 years in the person of 1st Lady [Pastor] Sherry (Stamps) Woodson. They pastor this growing flock of God together while Bishop serves as the Southeast Regional Bishop for the Living Word Covenant Fellowship. They have five blessed children: Richard Bernard, Richard III (in heaven), Richard Kenny, Lauren Alexis, and Brandon Richard).
Bishop and Pastor Sherry live the life they preach and teach about. They are truly living epistles operating in demonstration and power. We believe God has placed them on the earth and here at Living Word for such a time as this!
Pastor Sherry Woodson
Associate Pastor & 1st Lady
Pastor Sherry Woodson flows in the anointing of ministering to broken and hurting families. She walks in unity with her husband, Bishop Richard Woodson, Jr. as they lead one of the fastest growing churches on the north side of Clarksville. Together, they empower and inspire men and women of God to reach their full potential in the plans God has for their lives.
1st Lady Sherry is a native of Detroit, Michigan. In 1998, after serving 20 years in the United States Army Medical Command, she retired and returned to college to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from Austin Peay State University in 2004.
In 2005, she began working with the Tennessee Department of Children Services. She served as a Court Liaison for DCS in Cheatham County. God has strategically placed her in a capacity to minister to broken families within the court systems as well as throughout the community. She retired for a second time from DCS in 2019 and has been working full time at the church since.
She is the gentle calm behind the storm, yet God has released an explosive power in her as she teaches and preaches to expect God’s best in every situation. God has empowered her to lead one of the most progressive women’s ministries in the city: LWIM-C’s Kingdom Women of Virtue. Exposing the trappings of the past, she is teaching women how to defeat the enemy in the battlefield of their minds. She is truly an inspiration to the body of Christ.
1st Lady Sherry has a passion for God and His people. She is devoted to her husband and the vision of Living Word. The Holy Spirit has empowered her to be a healing virtue in the lives of hurting people. She serves as a spiritual mother to many sons and daughters in the ministry.
